Royals Lose Late In Opener Against White Sox

by @ 4:26 pm. Filed under 2009 Royals

Let’s just say, the Kyle Farnsworth signing has yet to pay us dividends.  Gil Meche threw a very nice game and he pitched seven strong but the inning he comes out, Farnsworth gives up a three run blast to Jim Thome to turn a 2-1 lead into a 4-2 loss.  Meche was about as good as you could ask to.  He struck out six, didn’t walk anyone, and he gave up seven hits.

Alex Gordon had the big hit with a solo shot that put the Royals on the board.  He finished the game with a pair of RBIs while Jose Guillen singled, drew a walk and scored a run.

I’m waiting for the weather to really break.  I got my son a brand new Nokona glove this year and we want to get out and break it in the right way.  We also got a higher end demarini baseball bat but we want to wait until it gets a big warmer before we break that out.
